Are You Asleep? (2006)

Created as sound design project for a class on film and sound. The video footage comes from Internet Archive and the music I made myself. I recorded some of the sounds, and the others are assumed to be fair-use.

The Elements (2008)

A 1-minute 16mm film, made from optically-printed elements of original footage. I spent about three months on the project, printing, re-photographing, and re-printing elements of film that I had shot earlier. I eventually went as far as cutting my own negatives at the project's completion. Turns out there weren't any more negative cutters in New York — times were changing — time to DIY. Optical printing for me is like creating a really large painting while viewing its parts through a microscope.
